الإله آمون من أهم إله ومعبودات مصر المحلية ظهر لأول مرة في عهد المملكة المصرية الوسطى (2000. 1787 ق.م) ثم تطوره مركزه حتى أصبح هو الإله الأعظم في جميع أنحاء مصر وقد ورد أسمه لأول مرة في تأريخ مصر في نصوص الأهرام من الدولة القديمة بمعنى (المتخفي أو المتستر) لإدراك المصريين القدماء ما لهذا الإله من قدرة خفية تشير إلى ماله من إحاطة بالوجود من حوله دون أن يدرك من حوله بتلك الخاصية، فلكلمة (آمون) هي صفة أطلقت على هذا الإله أكثر مما تكون اسم لوجود هذه الكلمة المعروفة باللغة المصرين القديمة بـ (Imn) قبل وجود الإله آمون وقبل أن تطلق عليه، وقد أتخذ هذا الإله هيئات مختلفة منها الإوزة، والكبش ثم إنسان برأس كبش إلا أن كل تلك الهيئات قد اختفت ولم يبقى منها سوى هيئة الكبش للإله آمون واستمرت حتى نهاية الديانة الوثنية في مصر لما تتمتع به هيئة الكبش من قداسة مفرطة في مصر القديمة وذلك بسبب الترابط بين هيئة الكبش ومفاهيم الحياة وتجدد الميلاد والبعث، وقد أطلق على هذا الإله عدة ألقاب منها (الشهير). (آمون رب عروش الأرضيين) وقد كانت شهرة الإله آمون كإلهاً خالقاً وصفاته السامية وقدراته المتعددة دافعاً في توحده في هيئته مع الكثير من آلهة ومعبودات مصر القديمة لكي تكتسب هذه المعبودات صفات الإله آمون كمعبود خالق ولاسيما هيأته في صورة الكبش لما لهذه الهيئة من قدسية لدى المصريين القدماء.

God Amon, the most important and the local gods of Egypt appeared for the first time in the era of the Egyptian Middle Kingdom (2000-1787 D.C.), his position evolutes until he became greatest god's all over Egypt ,his named has been appeared for the first time in history in Egyptian Al Ahram texts of the Old State in the sense (disguised or incognito) The ancient Egyptians realized what had that god of ability to hidden wealth of surround presence around him without being aware of those around him property. The word Amon is a adjective addressed to this god to be more than a name for the existence of this word known in ancient Egyptian with ( Imn ) before existence Amon and before named with, this god had many forms as geese, ram then man with ram's head but all that shapes were disappeared and not one exist except god ram for Amon which continued to the end of the Pagan religion at Egypt due to the ram's shape enjoy of excessive holiness in old Egypt because of the connection between the ram's shape and life's concepts and resurrection and birth, this god was given many titles as ( famous )-( Amon god of Earth thrones ), the glory of Amon as creator god and its sublime qualities and its multiply abilities two great incite which unified it with its form not other deities, the old Egypt worships in order to acquire Amon qualities as god worshiped, creator and especially its shapes in ram form due to this shape having holiness fro old Egyptians
